 to pursue his fortune–and I still have to spend every Christmas with

 parents are my parents’ best friends\, and for every Christmas past 
 we’ve had to stay in the same crappy cabin together stuffed with holiday 
 cheer while our families revel in their perfect lives. I’m not trying to 
 be a scrooge about the whole thing\, but it’s hard when I’m chained to 
 my job in New York City.\n\nFor Christmas present\, things have changed. 
 We’re getting a cabin upgrade and Charlie is NOT flying in with his 
 family…\n\nBecause he’s my ride. When our meddling families “arranged 
 transportation” for us\, it was all a ploy.\n\nAnd now I’m stuck in a 
 car with the man who broke my heart\, trying desperately not to think of a 
 Christmas yet to come with him or remember why I fell in love with him in 
 the first place.\n\nAnd he seems different this year–more humble and 
 generous. I still see the ghosts of his past self\, though\, and he amassed 
 his wealth through drive\, ambition\, and going for exactly what he 
 wants.\n\nAnd what he wants this Christmas…is me.\n\nAbout Liz 
 Alden\n\n\nI spent ten years traveling the world on a sailboat with my 
 husband. He is not a secret rockstar\, nor a grumpy farmer\, nor a coworker 
 I accidentally saw naked. I only see him naked intentionally.\n\nMany of my 
 books are based on my travels all over the world – from the Caribbean to 
 Polynesia to Europe. I know exactly how big the world is—having sailed 
 around it—and exactly how small it is\, having bumped in to friends 
 worldwide. I’ve been a dishwasher\, an engineer\, a CEO\, and 
 occasionally I get paid to write or sail.\n\nNow I’m in my small town 
 era\, both in fiction and real life. I live in Western Massachusetts with a 
 big backyard that would be perfect for a goat if only SOMEONE would let me 
 have one. I like my men to be sweethearts\, the bedroom door wide open 
 (with a splash of something new!) and the women to be independent and 
 mature.\n\n\n\n
